Shirley Roselyn Evans Byrd, 79, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at CAMC Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.
Born October 14, 1945 in Ingram Branch, WV she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Garnett Toney Evans.
Shirley was a homemaker and a mother to everyone who knew her. In her leisure she enjoyed watching her animals especially her deer and her great joy in life was playing with her grandbabies and great grandbabies whom she adored so much.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Billy Byrd; 2 grandsons, Jason Surnear and Joseph Fleshman; 2 great granddaughters Ashlynn Surnear and Dorothy Pritt; 3 sisters, Dorothy Settle, Ruby Cox, and Betty Ann Byrd; and 2 brothers, Gene Evans and Elmer G. Evans.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her son, Billy Joe Byrd (Rosetta); 2 daughters, Barbara Jean Byrd Bradley (Raymond) and Lori Ann Byrd Fleshman (David); 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Roman.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with her great nephew Shawn Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
Pallbearers will be Braxton Adkins, Branson Adkins, Noah Wilson, Harley Surnear, Timothy Surnear, and Dakota Bradley.
