Shirley Foster, 80, of Inman, SC, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at Ashlan Village.
Shirley was born in Spartanburg, SC on March 27, 1945, a daughter of the late Carolyn Ella (Foster) and Grady Leland Hembree. She was first married to the late Allen Poteat, and then to the late Ken Foster. Shirley is survived by, a daughter, Brandi Simmons and her husband Ed; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Simmons; a sister, Vicki Steadman and her husband Joe; a nephew, Patrick Steadman and his wife Veronica; a niece, Jessica Rustin and her husband Brad; two great nieces, Caroline Rustin and Victoria Steadman; three great nephews, Preston, Austin and Caleb Steadman; numerous cousins and her fur baby Sophie.
Shirley had worked as a receptionist at Inman Family Practice for Dr. Ben Taylor, she attended Stable Life Worship Center and enjoyed square dancing with The Spartan Spinners.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman, SC with Rev. Joe White officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC.
The family request memorial donations be made to Ashlan Village Activities Fund, 415 Brenda Way, Lyman, SC 29365.
In honor of Shirley's clothing style, the family ask everyone to wear bright colored clothing.
