Shirley Yvonne Fox

Shirley Yvonne Ellis Fox, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Pflugerville, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on July 29, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama, Shirley's journey was marked by a zest for life, an enduring spirit of adventure, and a heart that overflowed with kindness.
Shirley's early years in Hawaii laid the foundation for a life rich in family, faith, and culinary excellence. Her passion for cooking for the Bahai' Community led her to achieve a degree in Culinary Studies from Kapi'olani College, which paved the way for her supportive career in the family Catering Business. She also enjoyed serving the Bahai' community for many years including as Chief Chef at the Bahai' School Bosch in California.
Family was the cornerstone of Shirley's world. She is survived by her loving son, Allan David Dukes, and her devoted daughter, Ronda Gay Dukes Gindin. Shirley's legacy is also cherished by her adoring grandchildren, Christina Leilani Serna, Andrea Dawn Clark, and Jessica Nicole Bernal, Monica Leigh Hernandez, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Ayden Allen Clark, Elaina Ann Bernal, Sienna Anise Serna, Daniela Grace Bernal, Conner Allen Clark, and Elias Grey Serna. Each of them was a source of immense pride and happiness for Shirley, and she instilled in them the values of love, compassion, and faith.
Shirley's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. In her youth, she relished the great outdoors, finding joy in camping, swimming, and canoeing. As she matured, her adventurous spirit took her across the globe, traveling to distant lands and experiencing the world's myriad cultures. Her artistic side found expression in jewelry making, where her intricate designs were not only beautiful but also reflections of her creative soul.
Service to others was a constant thread in Shirley's life. She was the President of the Residents Council at Five Points of Pflugerville, where her leadership and commitment to senior community service made a profound impact. Shirley's religious devotion was unwavering, and she remained an active and dedicated member of the Bahá'í Faith throughout her adult life, embodying its principles of unity and peace.
Those who knew Shirley would describe her as loving, friendly, and faith-filled. Her warm smile and generous spirit were a comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
