Shirley Deen Fox

Ms. Shirley Deen Fox, age 84, of Madison, Florida, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia, following an extended illness.

Shirley was born December 7, 1941, in Nicholls, Georgia, to the late William Monroe Hutcheson and the late Georgie Kathleen Hersey Hutcheson. She made her career as a salesclerk, working for many years for Belleflowers Pharmacy, Madison Drugs, and finally for CVS. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, shopping and gardening. Along with her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her eleven siblings, six brothers: Robert Hutcheson, Lonnie Hutcheson, Joe Hutcheson, Warnie Hutcheson, Carl Hutcheson, Alan Hutcheson; and five sisters: Mattie Mae H. Sweat, Bet H. Nobles, Eloise H. Price, Mary Jo H. Smith, and Helen H. Osburne.

Shirley leaves behind her three children: Tony Adams and wife, Darlene, of Kathleene, Georgia, Angela A. Commander of Valdosta, Georgia, Allen Adams and wife, Amanda, of Lee, Florida; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A graveside funeral service and interment honoring Shirley will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Chatterton Grove Cemetery with Rev. Bascom Smith officiating.
