Shirley Marie Gimbel (Grundy), of Philadelphia, passed away on June 17, 2025. She was 54. Shirley was born in Paoli, Pennsylvania to the late Gerald and the late Shirley Grundy on October 20, 1970. She is the beloved wife of Jason Gimbel, Sr; mother of Jason Gimbel, Jr. ( Nicole), Joseph Gimbel, and Jennifer Gimbel; grandmother of Peyton and Caleb; sister of Richard Grundy (Cheryl), Josephine Cooke (Roy), Mary Alice Brancato (Carman), and John Grundy (Kelly); she is also survived by a loving extended family.
Shirley was raised in Olney in Philadelphia She was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. She excelled on the drill team and loved every minute of it. She grew up as the baby of her family and brought oodles of joy to all of them. Many of her younger years were spent enjoying their beautiful enchanting farm where she loved interacting with nature and all the animals. She loved to share special moments with her family there and the memories will last a lifetime.
Jason was the love of her life and when they found out the news they would be starting a family she was elated. With the addition of each beautiful child her heart burst with joy. Her children were her biggest joy and she was so proud of each one of them. Her memory will carry on in the sparkle of her children's eyes and in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to Shirley's Life Celebration on Friday, June 27, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and her Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
