Shirley Ann Hardy, 91, passed away on January 26, 2025 in Logandale, NV. Shirley was born on September 15, 1933 in Overton, NV to James Reuben Whipple and Fay Chadburn. After graduating from Moapa Valley High School in the early ‘50’s, she attended Utah State University in Logan, UT for about two years. Before completing her teaching degree, she was offered a teaching position at Moapa Valley High School, where she taught for a few years before meeting D. Glen Hardy, and they were sealed in the St. George Temple on September 5, 1957. They had three children, Jim, Stan, and Carol. She loved being a mom, taking care of her kids, and taking care of Glen. She worked for Ron Lewis Construction as an Office Manager for a few years, and volunteered as the secretary of the Clark County Junior Livestock Association for over twenty years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings over the years. She and Glen served a three-year mission with the Moapa Indian Reservation. They also served as temple workers in the Las Vegas, NV temple for many years. Shirley loved reading. She would often have three to four books going at a time, and would read as she quilted, crocheted, or other chores. She took part in bringing the first public library to Moapa Valley. She was a kind person, with no malice in her heart. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her three children; Jim & Cindy, Stan & Lana, and Carol & Richard, all of Logandale; thirteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Nona Whipple. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Hardy; her grandson, Austin Eide; her parents, Reuben and Fay Whipple; and her siblings, Marjorie Petersen, Wayne Whipple, Barbara Fehr, Ronald Whipple; and Mary Jane Laird.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Logandale Chapel, 3245 Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale, NV, with the Funeral to start at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Logandale Cemetery.
