Shirley Harding Hipps, a cherished member of her community and a devoted family woman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on Saturday, September 23, 1950, in Grenada, Mississippi, Shirley lived a life filled with love and laughter. She will always be remembered for her boundless love and the joyful moments she shared with her family and friends. May her memory live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Shirley had a fulfilling career, retiring from Capital One Bank, where her dedication and service were well-known among her colleagues. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted fan of sports, proudly supporting the LSU Tigers. Her love for sports was matched only by her commitment to maintaining an active lifestyle; she relished the pleasures of exercising and spending time nurturing her garden.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Leonard "Lenny" A. Hipps. She is also survived by her children, Todd Barlow and Brandy Barlow, her stepdaughter, Jamie Lynn Hipps, and her cherished grandchildren, Chance Barlow and Jordyn Barlow Mancaluso. Additionally, Shirley leaves behind additional family members and friends who will remember her warmth and generosity. Her kindness and spirit will be profoundly missed by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Elsie Harding, who undoubtedly shaped the wonderful person she became.
A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held at a later date.
