Shirley Holland

Mrs. Shirley Ann Ritchey Holland, 86, of Gore Springs, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her residence. She was born March 6, 1939, in Tutwiler to Jessie and Gladys Horne Ritchey.

Shirley spent most of her working life as a seamstress at Ruleville Manufacturing, where she was known for her exceptional skill and craftsmanship. A talented and creative homemaker, she found joy in sewing and quilting, cooking delicious meals for her family, tending her garden, and searching for bargains at yard sales.

She was a faithful member of Gore Springs Baptist Church and loved participating in WMU activities alongside her church family. Shirley was also an active member of the Gore Springs Community Club, where she treasured the fellowship and friendships she shared with those in the community she loved so dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Jerry Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the Drew Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the service Wednesday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include three sons, Stanley Holland of Drew, Carl Holland(Susan) of Gore Springs and Jack Holland(Connie) of Yates Center, KS; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George "Bondy" Holland; sister, Betty Smith and daughter-in-law, Debra Holland.

Parker Beck, Presley Beck, Jeremy Bradley, Wayne Bradley, Bryson Holland and Kevin Holland will honor Shirley by serving as pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Adoration Hospice for the love and exceptional care extended to Mrs. Holland during her last days.
