Shirley Huebner, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her family, entered her eternal home with family by her side on October 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and family traditions. Shirleys Christian faith guided her throughout her life. Born just a half hour before her twin sister Sharon on November 20, 1935, in Athens, Wisconsin to Fred and Lorna Mootz. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Athens, then Athens High school. Shirley worked at Brides World for many years before retirement.
Shirley married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Huebner on June 5, 1954. Together, they built a life centered around family. First in Athens, Wisconsin, where they raised their four children, and later in Wausau, Wisconsin.
She and Bob opened their home to family and friends throughout the years. Creating a warm and welcoming place where generations could gather. They hosted many holiday celebrations. These get togethers created memories that will remain with their family for years to come. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Huebner, their four children, Rand (Kerrie) Huebner, Russ (Denise) Huebner, Julie (Joe) D’Acquisto, Dan (Heidi) Huebner, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lorna Mootz and her twin sister Sharon Schedler.
The family would like to thank Athenian Living and St. Croix Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Shirley.
