Shirley Ingles Obituary
Shirley was born December 4, 1940, in Panama, Illinois to Jesse and Vivian (Savage) Compton. She lived her lifetime in a community she loved. She attended Panama school in her youth, married Jon Wesley Eudean Ingles- they later divorced- and raised her family.
She was a stay-at-home mom to her 7 children. Her children's interests often became her own – whether it be school activities, girl scouts, sports, or hobbies, she was always involved, always present and always driving someone somewhere. Once her children had grown, Shirley began a career in home health care. She also became involved in the Women's Auxiliary, VFW, and loved to go out dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Vivian, and brother, Loren Compton.
Survivors include her children, Linda Ingles of Hillsboro, Jesse Ingles of Vandalia, Margie (Doug) Redding of Sorento, Karen (Paul, Jr.) Hemken of Greenville, Carol (Kevin) Triplett of Old Monroe, MO., Cathy (Les) Vaughn of Raytown, MO., Dennis (Brittney) Ingles of Durant, IA.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Norman (Terri) Compton of Hillsboro; sister, Ida (Richard) Compton of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial donations may be made to: Highland Health Care Center, c/o Activities Department, 1450 26th St., Highland, IL. 62249
The family has entrusted Assalley Funeral Home in Panama with the ceremonies.
