Shirley Jean (Hunt) Jackson, 95, a resident of Town of Vienna, since 1946 passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, leaving the world a better place. Her life was filled with love and kindness, earning her the names of Mom, Gram, Mamgu, Mimi, Aunt Shirley, dear friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents-Harold and Margaret Hunt, her sister LaVerne Dunahoo, her beloved son Duane, and sweet friend Luke McGuire. Two grandsons Bradley Bailey and wife Ann-Dee, Bryan Bailey and wife Schyler and five great grandchildren, Porter, Ava, Grace, Finn and Piper.

Born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1930, she came to Vienna in 1946, graduating from Fairfax High School in 1948. She worked until her first retirement for the C&P Telephone Company. Shirley lived independently in her beloved Town of Vienna until August 2025, surrounded by many friends of all ages, shapes and sizes. She never met a stranger and gave her love to everyone, adored her sweet mailman, the squirrel that lived in her dogwood tree planted by her son Duane, and the deer that came for treats. If you saw Shirley, you were always guaranteed a smile.

A Celebration of Shirleys Life will be held June 6, 2026 at 9:00 am at the Town of Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry Street SE, Vienna where she will be remembered with stories of love and laughter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of her sweet friend, Luke McGuire, CureSearch for Childrens Cancer, PO Box 45781, Baltimore Md.21297-5781 honoring her lifetime of caring.
