Shirley Ruth Jackson Sharp

Shirley Ruth Jackson Sharp, 84, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Sunday, November 16, 2025, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
Shirley was born Monday, May 5, 1941, in Marlinton, a daughter of the late Lawrence Jackson and Pearl Hannah Jackson.
Left to cherish Shirley's memory are three children, David Sharp wife Annie, Randy Sharp and wife Shawna, Robert Channell and wife April, grandchildren, Wanda and Ronnie Mallow, Dereka Petrice and husband Tim, Amy Parks and husband William, Leslie Sharp, Brianna Worles and husband Tommy, Cassie Hinkle, Bobby, Kayla, Sierra, and Shawn Channell, Shirla and Eugena Sharp, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Shirley in death besides her parents and husband were two children, Wanda and Ronnie Sharp, the father of her children, Leo Cameron Channell, two grandchildren, Justin Mallow and Kelly Sharp, one great-grandson, Wyatt Worles, and six siblings, Goldie Jackson, Naomi Jackson, Nellie Hutton, Sylvia Hammonds, Quailin Jackson, and Montella Adams.
Shirley attended the schools of Pocahontas County and had been employed in housekeeping at Davis and Elkins College. She enjoyed camping and playing different types of games. Above all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, from 5 pm until 7 pm. Shirley's request for cremation will then be honored.
