Shirley D. Jenkins 63, of Middletown CT, surrounded by her loving family entered into her heavenly rest on December 7th 2025 at Middlesex hospital.

Shirley was born to the late Sammie and Eara Jenkins on June 21 1962 in Middletown, CT. Shirley attended Middletown high school were she participated on the soft ball team, and was a cheerleader. She graduated from Middletown high night school in 1981. She also gave birth to her one and only son Ja'Keis Jenkins. Shirley attended Zion Baptist church from a very early age, which she was a member of the choir, her angelic soprano voice echoed thur the church when she sang with her cousins and siblings, at 16 she was offered a gospel record deal, but unfortunately she was to young to accept. Shirley loved to cook, decorate, sing and dance. When she got together with her favorite cousins, Angie Bartell, Tora Bartell, and Vanessa Strickland, she would always have the greatest time. She was very talented, caring, loving, kind, and love to laugh. Shirley loved life and love to share moments and anything she could offer.

Shirley leaves to cherish her special memories, her son Ja'Keis Jenkins and granddaughter Ajah Stevens of Middletown CT, her sisters, Elonda Parham, Sandra Jenkins and Sharon Jenkins of Middletown, CT. Her favorite 11 nephews and nieces, Terelle Jenkins, Pasha Parham, Navida Jenkins, Equalla Jenkins, Sharita Jenkins, Taryan Jenkins, Mario Jenkins, Michael Aponte, Shakenna Jenkins, Travon Jenkins, and Bianca Aponte, and a host of great nephews and nieces and cousins and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Sonya Jenkins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th, at 11AM at:

Zion First Baptist church

16 James Moses Ave
