Shirley Ann Jungwirth (née Mohninger) age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Skypointe Hospice in Calgary, AB.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Martha Mohninger; her sister, Lydia, and her brother, Leonard. She is survived by her only daughter, Tracey Jungwirth, son in law, Robert Zinselmeyer; and ex-husband, Edward Jungwirth.
Shirley was born August 6, 1946, in Humboldt, SK and graduated high school from St. Brieux, SK. She was employed by CIBC and the Bank of Montreal for many years. After her retirement, she moved to Calgary to be closer to her daughter.
Shirley loved to dance. She loved her dogs and was a die-hard football, hockey, and curling fan. Poor Tracey and Rob had to deal with those football whistles echoing all day and night from her room.
Tracey would like to thank the care workers and doctors at Foothills Hospital and Skypointe Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Calgary Humane Society. Tracey will be doing cancer fundraiser events throughout the coming year; please support her in this cause.
A Memorial Service will be held for Shirley at Pierson's Funeral Service (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm. We encourage you to wear any team sports clothing in honour of mom.
In the spring, Shirley will be buried at Little Moose Cemetery, St. Brieux, SK to be with her mother and grandmother.
