Shirley was a very energetic woman and mowing grass and working in her flower beds was one of her favorite things to do.  Even when her health started to fail, you could still find her on the riding lawn mower doing what she loved.  Going to flee markets and hauling junk was also two favorite past times she enjoyed.  Shirley was fortunate to have many grandchildren and great grandchildren and she called them, "her babies”.  She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by a son John William “Billy” West, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Millsboro, Delaware; grandchildren James Callis, Scotty West, Carol Callis, David Carrier, Jr, Maria Bailey, Kyle Downs, Kasi Downs, Cody Downs, John William West, III, Jennifer Lynn Weaver, Heather Marie Collins and Christopher Alan Collins; twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were two daughters Robbin Downs and Donna Glasgow; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; three sisters and two brothers.
