Anna Kowarsch Obituary

Anna Kowarsch, 65, of Trappe, MD, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton following a hard fought battle with cancer. Her family was at her side.

Born in Chestertown, MD, she was the daughter of Frederick T. McCracken Sr. and Valerie Nemith McCracken. As a young girl, her family moved to Talbot County, where she graduated from Easton High School. Anna worked in manufacturing for most of her life including 10 years with Orion Safety and almost 23 years with Black & Decker. She was employed by Shore Regional Health until her health prevented her from working in 2023.

Anna was a strong, independent woman who loved her family and her friends dearly. After her diagnosis in 2020, she researched and made the decision to donate her body to science.

She is survived by her brother, Fred McCracken of Trappe, and his wife, Dottie. She also leaves behind her beloved nephews and nieces, Danny McCracken (Jamie); Craig McCracken (Brie); Tom McCracken (Desiree); Valerie MacDonald (Phil); Megan McCracken; sister-in-law Vicki Chance and 4 great nieces, 5 great nephews and 1 great great niece. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas McCracken.

Anna loved Sunday dinner with the family. Therefore, a Celebration of Life and fellowship will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Trappe Fire Hall, 4001 Powell Ave., Trappe, MD 21673. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trappe Volunteer Fire Company (address above) or Fairview Church of the Brethren, 11243 Chapel Road, Cordova, MD 21625.
