Shirley Ann Kurth, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Living Center West. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Private family inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Cemetery.

Shirley was born on October 20, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of George and Elsie (Dlouhy) Klimes(h) Jr. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, baking, taking car rides, occasionally visiting parks and casinos, and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children Ron (Anita) Kurth, Cindy (Doug) Braun, Cliff (Connie) Kurth, Marvin (Sandy) Kurth, Lori (Daryl) Scar, Mark (Mary) Kurth, Connie Kurth; nineteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her siblings Darlene Jones, Larry Klimes, and Richard Klimes; a son-in-law Dale Hanson; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Steven Lee Kurth; her daughter Susan Hanson, her siblings LaVerne Klimes and Carol Shaffer.
