Shirley A. LaMere, a woman defined by her unwavering faith and gentle spirit, was called home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2025, at the age of 87. She passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was born on August 17, 1938, to Frank and Mabel Stone.
She married the love of her life, Thomas LaMere, who preceded her in death in 2007. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, prayer, and hospitality. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her warm smile, and her famous dumplings.
Shirley loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed spending every opportunity together making beautiful memories. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A service celebrating her life and entry into eternal rest will be planned at a later date.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Elizabethtown-Lewis Emergency Squad.
“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
Services were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, PO Box 188, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.
