Shirley LaMere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Skinner Funeral Home - Turtle Lake on Jan. 10, 2026.
Shirley M. Bazey LaMere, age 82, passed away peacefully on Jan 2, 2026 at her home with family by her side.
During a blizzard in an old farm house that sat next to the river at Pelan, Minnesota - with seven older siblings sitting on the stairs waiting. She came into this wonderful world with the help of a horse doctor on February 20, 1943 to Joseph and Mae (Clark) Bazey, and was baptized a week later at Greenbush, Minnesota.
So, once again in recent years, her siblings sat waiting, this time for her to join them in Heaven.
Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings were her whole world - she leaves this world loving them.
Shirley loved playing cards, making quilts, sitting around telling stories to the nieces, nephews, and children - just laughing all day long.
Shirley leaves to celebrate her memory her children, Teresa Frank, Lynn Dayton, and Philip (Nita) LaMere of Amery, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Khollman of Shawano; Matthew LaMere (Brandon Whitman) of Turtle Lake, Michael (Bailey) LaMere of Amery, Katherine (TJ) Burger of Turtle Lake, David (Courtney) Frank of McKinley, Arianne (Sam) Banitt of Red Wing, MN, and Chaz (Tawny) Dayton of Rice Lake; eleven great-grandchildren, Marshal, Magnolia, and Ernest of Shawano, WI, Thomas and Vivian of Turtle Lake, Bennett, Cooper, and Cameron of McKinley, Theo of Red Wing, MN, Harper of Rice Lake and Lucas of Amery; three sister-in-laws, Shirley Bazey of Winchester, VA; Ingrid Bazey of Stephen, MN, Bernice Bazey of Roger, AK; plus many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews; wonderful friend, Emilia Morales of Red Wing, MN.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph and Mae (Clark) Bazey and nine siblings, Joseph, George, Leonard, JoAnn, John, Ernest, Richard, Elaine and Marie Bazey; grandson, Taylor Dayton; three nephews, Matthew, Troy and Trent Bazey, and one niece, Megan Boyer.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
