Richard David "Jud", "Goodwrench", "Rick", or "Dick" Johnson, 71, of Turtle Lake passed away unexpectedly while riding on the ATV trail East of Turtle Lake on February 14, 2026. He was born July 28, 1954, in Amery, WI to Alfred Andrew and Olive Louise (Hansen) Johnson. He was raised on the farm and attended Clear Lake High School.

He was married to Marlene Donaker. They raised three wonderful daughters in Turtle Lake, and later divorced.

Jud wore many hats throughout his life working as a mechanic, rock crusher, bridge builder, maintenance tech, machinist, and forklift operator. He volunteered at the Turtle Lake Fire Department, Moon Lake Threshermen's Association, and the Turtle Lake Food Pantry.

Jud enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, riding his four wheeler, playing bingo, traveling, reading, playing cribbage, and visiting the casino. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the various fine local establishments.

He is survived by his three daughters: Colleen (Rolf) Donhowe, Jessica (Chris) Ruscher, Monica (Andy) Koenig, bonus daughter: Carla (Chris) Gross; grandchildren: Amanda Gutting, Dylan Gutting, Grace Koenig, Ella Koenig, Macy Koenig; bonus grandchildren: Charlotte Gross and Carter Gross; siblings: Joseph Johnson, Mary Boigenzahn, Fred Johnson, Sue (Rick Szydel) Johnson, and Mike Johnson; sister-in-law, Patty Johnson; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. Jud was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Johnson; brother-in-law, Charles Boigenzahn.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday, February 20, 2026, at Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake. Following the visitation there will be a gathering at Get-Go Bar in Turtle Lake to share more stories.
