Shirley Jean Clabo McKay, age 62 of Gatlinburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, November 20, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was co-owner of Trotter’s Restaurant for 27 years and a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Gatlinburg, serving as trustee and Sunday School Class Secretary. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at Sevier County Food Ministries. She was preceded in death by her son Robert Bryan McKay and nephew Eddie Trotter. Survivors: Husband: John R. “Bob” McKay Son: Doug McKay and wife Hope Grandchildren: Brooke McKay, Megan McKay, John McKay, Hannah McKay Great-grandchild: Ethan Taylor Massey Parents: Frank B. and Cecil Clabo of Gatlinburg Sister and brother-in-law: Dianna and Johnny Farley Several nieces, nephews, and special friends Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Gatlinburg, 742 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738 or National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, 4450 Walker Boulevard, #2, Knoxville, TN 37917. Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Rieger and Rev. Bill Merritt officiating. Family and friends will meet 10 AM Thursday for interment in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
