Shirley Rose Miller, wife, mother, homemaker and devoted librarian in the public school system, passed away at the age of 90 on July 5, 2024, in Livonia, Michigan. She was born on June 11, 1934, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to her parents the late Lawrence and Rose (Brown) White. 

Shirley's love for books and education shone throughout her career as she served the community and inspired countless young minds. Her impact as a librarian resonated within the hearts of all those she guided with her wisdom and passion for learning.

Her family describes Shirley as having a great sense of humor and keen wit, which she maintained up to her passing.

An active and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Shirley is dearly loved by her family. She will be deeply missed by her son David (Catherine) Miller and daughter Lori (Michael) Arvidson. Her memory also will be cherished by her grandchildren Arly Vincent, Alexa Arvidson; Rylie (Michael) Lawton, and Jacob Arvidson; and her great-grandchildren Beckett Nhean and Henry Lawrence Lawton. In addition to her immediate family, Shirley will be remembered fondly by her brother Arthur (Joan) White.

Shirley is predeceased by her husband of 70 years Albert Miller III.

A Memorial Gathering to honor Shirley's life will be held on July 15, 2024, at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, Michigan, starting at 10:00 AM. This will be followed by an 11:00 AM Memorial Service at the same location.

Shirley Rose Miller will forever be celebrated for her dedication to education and the positive influence she had on everyone around her. May her spirit live on through the memories she created and the lives she touched.
