Obituary of Shirley A. Mitchell

Shirley A Mitchell age 86, of Chadds Ford, PA passed away peacefully on July 28th at her home. Born in New Castle, PA, Shirley was raised in Massillon, Ohio. She was a resident of Chadds Ford, PA for the past 18 years, previously residing in Roxborough, PA. Shirley was a member of Valleypoint church. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Felicia traveling and going to music concerts. She was especially fond of Elvis tribute shows and trips to Lancaster.

Shirley was known for her generous heart and her love for her family and dear friends. She always made everyone laugh with her funny sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, Gerald and Grace Brader Brandt, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Mitchell who died in 2006, a brother, Richard Brandt, a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Word, and her first husband, Charles (Red) Snyder. Shirley is survived by 2 daughters, Felicia Mitchell, and DeAnna (Greg) Moyers, siblings, Douglas and Dennis (Lois) Brandt, 3 grandchildren, Christopher (Elena) Word, Cameron Holloway and Clayton Holloway and 5 great grandchildren, Cody, Kierra, Kellan, Kenna and Kylinn as well as many very special nieces and nephews. In addition she will be missed by her 3 beloved fur babies, Nicky, Bailey and Brandy.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 4th, 2:00pm at Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research (stjude.org). Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com
