Shirley Omartian Obituary

Shirley J. Omartian nee Evans, 84, of Glenview, passed away surrounded by her loving family at home on March 6, 2021. Shirley was born July 27, 1936 to Edgar and Lucille Evans. She was raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas where she stayed until 1956 when she married the love of her life, Harry. Originally living in Evanston then later moving to Glenview where they owned and operated AAA Lock and Key for 50 years. She was the beloved wife for 62 years of the late Harry S. Omartian; loving mother of Kimberley (Harry) Walder and Darren Omartian; she was a proud grandmother of Harry "Butch" Walder, Shannon (Michael) Yopchick, Kiley Walder and Michael Walder; great-grandmother of Declan Dwyer; fond sister of Ron (Emily) Evans, Judy Randolph and the late Ray Evans; dear sister-in-law of Alice (the late Charles) Kaishian and Florence (the late Apkar) Omartian; caring aunt of many. Service and interment will be private. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 (www.kidney.org).
