Shirley A. Phalen, age 87, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on March 26, 2026, at The Gardens of St. Francis.

She was born on December 10, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Myrtle (Hartman) Clark. Shirley was a proud graduate of Scott High School.

Shirley dedicated over 20 years of service with Toledo Building Services, where she was known for her strong work ethic and quiet dedication. In addition, she spent more than 30 years as an Avon representative, building lasting connections with those she served.

She was previously active with the East Toledo Senior Center and enjoyed staying connected with her community. Shirley found joy in life's simple moments, especially going for rides whether it was running errands or heading out shopping. She rarely needed to buy anything; she just loved tagging along, something she fondly called "bummin'."

Above all, Shirley cherished time spent with her grandchildren. They were the center of her world, and she took great pride in being part of their lives.

Shirley will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steady presence, and the love she shared with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richie, Randy, and Richard (Sara) Phalen; and grandchildren, Parker and Mason Phalen.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Richard Phalen; brothers, Duane, Gary, and Dennis Clark; and sister, Deanna Rawlings.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Aetna Cemetery, Wauseon, OH.
