Shirley Phillips, 95, passed away on September 29, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
She was born on January 5, 1930, in Neosho, MO, to E.E. Studebaker and Mildred Bundy Studebaker. Shirley graduated from Raymondville High School and went on to earn an associate degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She started her career as a secretary and went on to work for several universities as an administrative assistant.
Shirley married Donald Phillips on December 23, 1950, in Raymondville, Texas. The couple had 3 children, Lincoln Phillips of Gaithersburg, MD, Anna Phillips Bryan of Dallas, TX, and Ellen Phillips, of Fort Worth, TX.
Shirley was best known for her work with Women on Mission through her church for many years. She also served as a volunteer at Christian Community Assistance in Fort Worth, Texas. She was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles. She loved to cook, and at Christmas she baked Christmas cookies and other treats for friends and family. Her cooking and baking was recognized by many awards and ribbons she won at the county fair.
She is survived by her husband Donald Phillips and her son Lincoln (Kandy) Phillips, daughter Anna (William) Bryan, and daughter Ellen Phillips. She is also survived by three grandchildren - Matthew Phillips, Derek Phillips, and Gabrielle Zurita and three great grandchildren - Ashton Phillips, Zachary Phillips, and Olivia Zurita. And brother Joe Studebaker of Kingsland, TX. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents E.E. and Mildred Studebaker, brothers Harold Studebaker, Bob Studebaker, Marvin Studebaker, and sisters Pauline Passmore, Betty Studebaker, and Virginia Stewart.
Visitation: 10:00am to 12:00p.m. Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, prior to the Service.
The service for Shirley Phillips will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at 12:00 noon, at The Church at Benbrook at 930 Winscott Rd, Benbrook, TX 76126.
