Shirley Pruitt, age 87, of Cumming, GA., passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her home. Shirley was a member of MT. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J.T. and Eva Cape Sewell; brother and sister-in-law, Morris and Patricia Sewell. Her first job was with Sears & Roebuck where she met her husband, Loy. She later worked at Troncalli Chrysler in Roswell for 12 years and at Billy Howell Ford for 5 years as the assistant body shop manager and finally retired from Prism Automotive in Cumming. She enjoyed crafting and was a Certified Master Doll Crafter.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Loy Pruitt; children, Leslie Robin Ayers, Lori Roxanne (Glen) Chester; grandchildren, Christopher Ayers, Harley and Kayla Chester, Heidi Chester; great grandchildren, Zuri E. Ayers, Kayden Parton, Piper Chester, Octavia Chester.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Orr and Rev. Randy Richards officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
