We enjoyed staying at Shirleys house and eating gumbo, playing games. That was so fun! She wanted Michael to take apricot seeds to get rid of his cancer. He did that. It helped. Her house was so cute and cozy. Shirley was always a sweet soft spoken lady. She told me she liked my hair that it reminded her of my mom. She loved the Lord and stood firm in her beliefs. We will miss her at the DeRidder church and at campmeeting. My deepest sympathies to Gaila, Dean, Tommy Jr. and families.

She was the best mother a son could ask for and my best friend. She loved all of her grandchildren and great grandkids and she will be dearly missed down here on earth but I plan to see her again soon when our Father Yahweh comes to get us or if he calls me home before

"Aunt" Shirley was more like part of the family than "just a friend"! Growing up, she and her 3 children were our closest neighbors (1/2 mile away). She is responsible for my great love of all Cajun food!! Many times all of them and all of us would pile into the car to ride to church together. I would be slightly jealous because I could always tell when she had fixed something yummy by the aroma that lingered on them when they would get into the car!!
Tommy Jr, Dean and Gaila, I have many fond memories of our "growing up years" together! I was the baby of the Bowman family so y'all were older than I was but I will never forget our Cajun relatives next door. We are praying for each of you during this time of terrible loss. We love you lots and lots!!

Another precious saint has made the landing safe. I remember being in Little Rock, Arkansas with my parents who were holding revival with the Tim Lawton´s. Sis. Quebodeaux and Gaila attended there. Gaila and I reconnected as long time friends. Her mom gave me a white crocheted collar that she made and I enjoyed wearing it with many different outfits. What a sweet, kind and soft spoken saint. Tommy, Dean & Gaila you are experiencing a tremendous loss here on earth but the good thing is that you can be prepared to meet her again one day soon in Heaven. My prayers are surrounding each of you at this difficult time. With love, Naomi Byers

"Aunt Shirley" moved to Idaho and was our next door neighbor. She introduced Cajun gumbo to us and I still make it like she taught us!
She would sew matching dresses for Gayla and me She tried to teach me to sew but I was a hopeless case! I remember putting a zipper in a skirt and showing it to her ...she was admiring my work and then started chuckling. She said "Kyoko, you put it in the zipper upside down"
We loved aunt Shirley very much and we will miss her but she has reached her heavenly home and I mean to keep my eyes on Jesus and meet her again someday!
Tommy,Dean and Gayla, we love y´all and will be praying for you during this difficult time
