RENSSELAER - Shirley Anne Roberts, age 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Manhattan, N.Y.
Born on June 3, 1958, in Albany, N.Y., Shirley was the beloved daughter of the late Gordon and Shirley Reynolds. She was raised in Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer High School. Shirley went on to build a long and successful career with CSRA, now GDIT.
Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Shirley was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Her warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her devoted partner, Freddie Cuscuna; her loving children, Jeremiah Roberts and Amanda Roberts; her cherished grandson, Sean Patrick McCauley; and her brothers, Brian, Gordon, and William Reynolds. She also leaves behind her dearest friends, Debbie Marley and Denise Cotugno, with whom she shared many fond memories.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the W.J. Lyons, Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m.
