Ambrose Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. - ArbutusShirley was born on July 15, 1933 to Ruth (Florey) and George Harp, the first of four children. Her siblings include George (Bob), deceased; Leroy (Roy), deceased; and Virginia (Ginger).
She wed Norbert B. Rozanski (deceased 2018) in 1953 and would have been married for 72 years on October 10, 2025.
She is survived by her sister Ginger; son David and wife Terri, daughter Diane and husband Paul; grandchildren Ashley, Kacey and husband Doug, Lance and wife Mary Catherine; and great granddaughters Magdalena and Eloise.
She was born and lived in Maryland her entire life, having bought her first and only house with her beloved husband in 1958. She was employed at Montgomery Wards where she met Norbert by intentionally creating mishaps requiring his expertise in maintenance. Other employment included C&P Telephone Company, Voshells Pharmacy, Ascension Parish Convent, and 1st Team Temporary Services. For many years during the 1960-1970s she was an independent AVON representative. She was especially proud of her role to have planned and provided daily meals for over 20 nuns residing at the Ascension Church Convent for several years.
She was a parishioner at Ascension Church for over 60 years and was very proud of her nephew, The Most Reverend Mitchell T. Rozanski, the Archbishop of St. Louis, MO, who will conduct the funeral service.
She enjoyed crafts, cooking, ceramics, crocheting, and children. Above all she loved her family and simply adored her dog, Max. Shirley and Norbert were active members of a square dance group and traveled with the group throughout the US. They also enjoyed trips and social events sponsored by the Lever Brothers Retirees Group.
A viewing will be held on October 17, 2025 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. in our Arbutus location. A funeral Mass will be held at Ascension Church, Halethorpe, on October 18, 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Dundalk, MD following funeral services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Shirley's memory to favored animal organization or pet shelter.
