Shirley M. Sandow, 89, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Riverside Terrace Assisted Living.
She was born on January 1, 1936 in Boone County, IL, the daughter of Rosella (Kasten) Ott. Shirley was a 1953 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. She married Herbert Sandow on June 27, 1953 in Dubuque, IA. He predeceased her on July 5, 2014.Shirley was formerly employed by Forbeck & Monahan Law Firm until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and dancing. Shirley was an avid bowler and loved going to numerous tournaments.
Survivors include her children, Terry Sandow (Tom) Pier of Milwaukee, WI and Robin (Curt) Carlson of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Nathaniel Pier (Noel Tylla), Lindsay Pier (Josh Padgett), Holly (Ryan) Wendorf, Cole (Katie) Carlson, and Katie Sandow; nine great-grandchildren; special friends, Kathy Hart and Jean Taylor.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Rosella and Charles Hopper; daughter, Kim Sandow; and sister, Betty Cassaro.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Riverside Terrace and Beloit Regional Hospice for the care they gave mom; especially Sherrie!
Per Shirley's wishes, no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Turtleville Cemetery Columbarium. Memorials in her name may be made to Beloit Regional Hospice.
