Shirley Ann Scheid, 92, of Lancaster, PA passed away on February 26, 2026 at WellSpan Ephrata Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Edna (Gill) Fisher. Shirley was the loving wife to the late Robert Carl Scheid.
Shirley retired as a Pharmacy Tech at CVS. She lived at the beach in Rehoboth, DE for 22 years. Shirley loved to do puzzles and read romance and mystery novels. In the summertime, you could find her on her porch reading a book. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley was an active member of the American Legion Post 34 and at one time was president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Shirley and her husband would transport her oldest son to Philadelphia every weekend to the Oberbrook School for the Blind for 6 years. She was active in her sons’ sports and loved to watch her grandchildren play sports.
Shirley is survived by her sons: Robert C. Scheid, Jr, companion of Judy Ernst, of Lancaster, PA, Michael A. Scheid, husband of Kathy, of Long Neck, DE and Ronald L. Scheid, husband of Cindy, of Lancaster, PA; 3 grandchildren: Sara Scheid, wife of Kyle, William Scheid and Robert Scheid; 1 step-grandchild, James Stover, husband of Melissa; 6 great-grandchildren: Riley and Grayson Stover, Vae and Dempsey Caruthers, Scarlett Crawford and Lilly Scheid; and sisters: Brenda M. Moyer of Palmyra, PA and Linda D. Roth of York, PA.
Shirley is preceded in death by her brothers: Barry L. Fisher and LeRoy F. Fisher; grandparents and parents.
A viewing will take place from 10:30-11:30 AM with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Shirley will be laid to rest in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
