Published by Legacy on Feb. 27, 2026.
Dwayne H. Haines, 79, of Blanchard, beloved father, pap, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by his family at home. Born on September 24, 1946, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Herbert and Josephine (Stull) Haines.

Dwayne was a 1964 graduate of Lock Haven High School. He retired from Lock Haven University as a Building Maintenance Supervisor after 39 years of service.

Dwayne lived a life grounded on faith in God and love for his family. On May 11, 1968, he married the love of his life, Darla (Confer) Haines, who survives at home after sharing 57 years of marriage together. Above all else, he cherished his family. He was a steady presence, a source of guidance and a man whose love shown through his actions and words.

Dwayne was happiest outdoors-hunting out at Kato, fishing at Curtain or mowing his lawn. He took great pride in a well-kept yard, a clean vehicle, the ability to fix just about anything and the feeling of hard work done right.

Dwayne was a member of God's Eternal Life Church in Lock Haven. A devoted Christian who loved the Lord and spent his life leading by example, his family rejoices in assurance that Dwayne is now in heaven with Jesus. He played an active role in Howard Lions Club throughout the years. When he wasn't outside, he enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and game shows, especially Family Feud. More than anything, he loved spending time with his granddaughter, Kierstan, who was her "Pap's Princess."

In addition to his wife, Darla, he is survived by his daughters, Brenda Heizman (Trent) of Lititz, and Nena Haines (Charles Rider) of Blanchard and his princess Kierstan Heizman (Fiancé Tyler Confair) of Virginia Beach. Also surviving is his brother, Barry Haines (Sheila) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Haines.

Dwayne leaves behind a lifetime of memories that his loved ones will cherish forever. Funeral services and burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.wetzlerfuneralhome.com
