Minnis Chapel, Inc. - St. JohnShirley Jean Shelton, 88, passed away July 16, 2025 at Kenwood Plaza, St. John, KS. She was born Feb. 21, 1937 in Odessa, TX, the daughter of Kenneth Frederick and Lena Olive (Shank) Sigler.
On December 29, 1955 she married George Russel Shelton in Borger, TX. Shirley was a resident of St. John, KS. since 1969 coming from Minneola, KS. Shirley worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Kutina and Dr. Howell, was a Clerk of the District Court for Judge Bennington, a Paraprofessional in St. John, and worked in the Stafford Schools as Coordinator for Parents for Teachers. She was a member of the Church of Christ, St. John, KS.
Shirley will be missed by her daughters, Michelle (Richard) Brensing, Stafford, KS., Natalie Lippoldt, St. John, KS., Shannon (Darrell) Bauer, Hudson, KS., Kari (Craig) Smith, Great Bend, KS., Krista (Rick) McGaugh, Fayetteville, AR. and a son, Jacob (Kelly Lynn) Shelton, Charlotte, NC; 17 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, both parents, a son, Russel Dean Shelton, a brother Wayne Sigler and a sister Patsy Roberts.
Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 8 ,2025 from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Minnis Chapel, St. John, KS. Memorial service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025 at the Church of Christ, St. John, KS with Zeboriah Carter presiding. Inurnment will be in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS. Memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice, Kenwood Plaza and Stocking Stuffers of Central Kansas in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS.
