Shirley passed away peacefully Thursday, August 7, 2025, with her family at her side at the age of 90.

She was born in South Bend, Indiana to John and Ann Okeneske on February 23, 1935. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Coldwater. Shirley graduated from St. Charles Catholic High School in 1953. She was married to Kenneth Stiver. Together they raised their family in Schoolcraft for over 60 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth; one daughter Julia Ann and her parents: John and Anne Okeneske.

Shirley is survived by her two sons and their wives, John and Kathy of Schoolcraft, and Jim and Heather of Mendon; three grandchildren, Joseph & Meagan of Portage, Gina & Logan Wolf of Scotts, and Nicholas of Mendon; and three great-grandchildren, Addison, Evelyn, and Sydney. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy (Tom Hadley) of Coldwater and Patricia (Richard Straw) of Coldwater, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday August 11th from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday August 12th at Schoolcraft Cemetery at 1pm with Monsignor Thomas Martin officiating.
