hirley June Turpin Miller, 75 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Loudon, TN, passed away peacefully Monday, February 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was of the Baptist faith. Shirley was a dedicated worker at Parkwest Hospital, Rural Metro, Walmart, and Food City. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger, everyone loved Shirley where ever she worked. Shirley loved all her pets, even the neighborhood pets who came around. She also loved taking long motorcycle rides with her husband, along with fishing, and watching Tennessee Vols and Tennessee Titans Football. Shirley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gurthie and Fannie Tuck of Loudon, TN; father, Henry Earl Bluford of Loudon, TN; mother, Ola May Childers of Knoxville, TN; step-dad, James E. Childers of Knoxville, TN; sister, Betty Ann Bluford of Loudon, TN; and brother, Luther Bluford of Knoxville, TN. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don Miller of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Marsha and Nick Fleming of Gilbert, Arizona; son, Kenneth and Melissa Turpin of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Allene and Gene Pressley of Lenoir City, TN; Fredia and Mitch Shelton of Jacksboro, TN; brother, Jimmy Bluford of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Nichole Schumacher of Chicago, IL; Cory and Reesha Dake of Tazewell, TN; Haley and John Kellogg of Chicago, IL; Jacob Turpin of Knoxville, TN; along with 6 great grandchildren, Hayden, Braxton, Camdon, Makaylee, Blakely and Paisley. Shirley's final wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes spread over her mom and dad's graves. She didn't want to have a funeral for everyone to cry over her. She just wanted everyone to be happy, not sad. At a later date, we will hold a Celebration of Life Party in honor of Shirley Turpin Miller. In honor of Shirley, memorial donations can be made to Clinton Hwy Vet. 7215 Clinton Hwy, Powell, TN 37849. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Miller family and invites you to view and sign the online registry.
