Mrs. Shirley Y. Uggerholt, 79, of Sandwich, passed away peacefully August 2, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Walter Uggerholt with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Glen Cove, NY, Shirley was the daughter of the late Floyd G. and Julia W. (Shaw) Dolliver. Moving to Sandwich in 1968, Shirley was employed with the Sandwich Water District as a Rate Collector and Treasurer for 30 years. Following retirement, Shirley continued her activities with St. John's Episcopal Church and volunteered at 2 Jarves St., the church's Thrift Shop.

Shirley was an avid gardener and found great enjoyment working in her vegetable and many flower gardens as well as antiquing and traveling. Above all else, Shirley had an unwavering devotion to her family as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Chris A. Uggerholt and his wife Nancy of Bartlett, NH, Karl Uggerholt and his wife Laura of Mansfield, MA and Kathy Uggerholt of Sandwich. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Craig, Kathryn and Kimberly Uggerholt. Shirley was predeceased by her brother, Aubrey Dolliver.

Mrs. Uggerholt's Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11AM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 159 Main Street, Sandwich. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Hope Health Hospice 765 Attucks Ln. Hyannis, MA 02601.
