Shirley Jean Veach peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on Monday, May 6, in Portland, Oregon, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family.
Born on September 4, 1935, Shirley was the first child of Harry and Ethel Carsh. She received her education at Metzger Elementary and Tigard High School. Later in life she graduated with her bachelor's degree.
Throughout her life, Shirley was dedicated to her work at the US Postal Service, Rose Quarter, and as a tax preparer.
In her leisure time, Shirley found joy in participating in Masonic Organizations such as Jobs Daughters, Eastern Star, Amaranth, and Daughters of the Nile. Her passion for exploration led her to travel extensively and discover new places.
Shirley is preceded in death by her spouses Merwin Bias and Leslie Veach, her daughter Robinetta Kirkham, her sister Carol Dixon, her sister Diane Gordon and her grandson Micheal Mireau.
She is survived by her daughters Iva Diane Veach Soule and Linda Mireau (Doug), her brother Harry Carsh (Gwen), her granddaughters Erin Longmate (Paul) and Rachel Anaya (Roland), her grandson Douglas Mireau Jr. (Amy), and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Shirley's love and presence have forever enriched their lives.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 11:00 am at the Al Kader Shriners Center (25100 SW Parkway Ave) in Wilsonville, Oregon. Joyful attire is encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude, one of Shirley's favorite charities.
