Shirley M. Wine

Shirley M. Wine, 89, of Warsaw, Indiana passed at 12:38 am, Monday, March 23, 2026 at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital of Warsaw, Indiana.

Shirley was born on July 6, 1936, in Mentone, Indiana, to the late Fred A. and Anna Lavera (Stockberger) Horn. She graduated from Mentone High School in 1955. On April 17, 1981, she married Richard Wine in Mentone, and he survives.

For more than 20 years, Shirley worked as a waitress at the former Teel's Restaurant in Mentone. She attended Warsaw Community Church for many years. Shirley loved cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

She and her husband enjoyed camping and taking motorcycle day trips whenever the opportunity arose. A devoted Jeff Gordon fan, she loved watching NASCAR races. She also collected Shirley Temple dolls and had a special place in her heart for her rescue cats and dogs. Shirley never met a stranger. She loved sitting on her front porch, keeping a caring eye on her community.

She is survived by her husband Dick Wine of Warsaw; daughters Melody Craig of Mentone, Tammy Shepherd of Mentone, Angy and husband David Tabb of Warsaw, and Anita and husband Troy Johnson of Warsaw, Rich and wife Brandi Wine of Tenn.; 15 Grandchildren; and 26 Great Grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sons Richie Grim and Randy Grim, granddaughter Tehya Grim, 5 Brothers, and 6 Sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer officiating.

The interment will take place following the service in the Mentone Cemetery, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at King Memorial Home, Mentone, Indiana.
