Shirley Jane Wright

Shirley Jane Homesley Wright, age 80, of Lincolnton, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at The Brian Center of Lincolnton. She was born July 23, 1941 in Gaston County to the late Commodore Broughton and Ruth Lineberger Homesley. Shirley was a life-long member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. She also loved spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Garry Wright, Sr.; and siblings, Barbara Rebecca Homesley, James and Lewis Homesley; and Ruth Marie Homesley O'Donnell.
She is survived by her son, Don Garry Wright, Jr. (Lisa) of Richmond, VA; daughters, Katherine Wright (Larry) of Kings Mountain, and Susan Wright Beal (Cole) of Lincolnton; brothers Steven (Cindy), Sonny (Jean), and Larry Homesley (Vicky); sisters, Helen Lamoureux, and Joann Minton (Ernie); grandchildren, L.J. Wright (Kimberly Rackley), Amanda Craft (Stephen), Taylor Wright, Mason Wright, Cheyenne Heafner, and Savannah Heafner; great-grandson, Landon Craft; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dale Hendricks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 PM prior to the graveside in the church sanctuary.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Brian Center of Lincolnton for the care and comfort given to Mrs. Wright during her time there.
