Mrs. Shirley M. Yaddow, 74, of Mohawk, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with her loving family by her side.
Shirley was born in Utica, on August 25, 1948, the daughter of Robert and Pauline (Newtown) Jones, a received her education in Utica schools. On September 3, 1966, Shirley was united in marriage with Kenneth E. Yaddow, a loving and devoted union of 45 years, until Kenneth's death on August 20, 2012. At one time, Shirley was employed as a nurse's aide with the Masonic Care Community, later with Brookdale in Clinton and for many years, until her retirement, with the Lutheran Home in Clinton. After her retirement, she continued caring for people in the private care sector. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, word games on her tablet and long car rides. Shirley dedicated most of her life, lovingly caring for her family and the many many people who put their health needs in her hands.
Mrs. Yaddow is survived by her loving children, Karl and Dar Yaddow of New Hartford, Joy Lynn and Kori Hess of Portland, OR and Michael and Jenn Yaddow of Boonville; five cherished grandchildren, Sheyanne Yaddow and her fiancé, Reno of Clark Mills, Johnathan Smith of Oregon, Kyle Yaddow of New Hartford, Julie Hess of Oregon and Leigha Yaddow of Boonville; her half-brother, Robert Jones of Whitesboro and sister-in-law, Candy Jones of AZ, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Kenneth, and parents, Robert and Pauline, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Deanna Yaddow, brother, Bill Jones and half-sister, Susie Thayer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Shirley's celebration of life on Saturday, June 3, 2023 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1315 Champlin Ave., in Yorkville. Those wishing to make a donation in Shirley's memory, please consider an animal shelter of your choice.
Mrs. Yaddow's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff on the second floor of Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the loving care you provided to Shirley.
