Shirlia Jordan

Shirlia Ann Frances Setser Jordan, born on August 22, 1945, to Lula and James Setser, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Growing up as one of the oldest among her siblings, she earned the affectionate nickname "Iron Pants," a testament to her strength and resilience.
Shirlia was an extraordinary woman with a heart as vast as the sky, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. On October 5, 1963, she married the love of her life, Herbert Jordan, and together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and love walking the last mile from this life into heaven.
As the matriarch of her family, Shirlia cherished her time surrounded by loved ones, sharing her wisdom in the garden and the kitchen. She devoted her life to raising her children, Sherry Garland and Michael Jordan, instilling in them the values of compassion, dedication and hard work.
Shirlia's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kimberly (Tyler) Bishop, Heather Jordan, Jordan (Toni) Garland, Hunter Garland, and Ashley (Kyle) Mundy. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Kalia, Carly, Cate, Kasen, Brynnlee, Luna, Blakely, Emberly, Kayden, Landon, and Keegan, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Shirlia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert, her mother, father and several brothers and sisters, and her beloved grandson. She is survived by 6 siblings and several nieces and nephews. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering love and the beautiful memories she created. Rest in peace, Nanny Shirlia.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Byron Tillery officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 23rd from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24th from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 25th from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Swancey, Tyler Bishop, Andy Fincher, Andy Chester, Douglas Jordan and Jordan Garland. Honorary pallbearer is Kasen Voyles.
