Our beautiful loving Shiryl passed peacefully in her sleep September 2, 2024, with her husband Ed beside her. While we mourn her absence, we celebrate her new freedom in heaven and reunion with loved ones.
She leaves behind husband Ed Smith; her son Brice Aaron Hicks, his wife Jen and her much loved grandson Remington; sister Kay Kluver and her husband Mark; sister-in-law/friend Gayla and her husband Carmen Noey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and canine companion Ellie May.
Shiryl and Edward Smith married March 6, 2010. Together they traveled, hosted extended family and loved rooting for Remi's sports teams.
Shiryl was predeceased by parents, Matt B. Conner and Earleen Harbin Conner, her first husband Britt Hicks, son Brandon Corey "Hoss" Hicks, and best friend Monette Rice.
Shiryl was a life-long resident of the Wichita Falls area, raising her boys in the Bonny Homes addition, where many adventures were had - now she knows ALL the stories!
A Registered Nurse, Shiryl worked at United Regional Health Care Center and for Dr. Jerry Myers before retiring from Kell West Regional Hospital.
The family expresses much appreciation to Dr. Jerry and Sue Myers for their support and friendship through the years.
Shiryl leaves many fond memories for a host of friends and patients who benefited from her loving, generous nature and tasty treats.
To honor her memory, please do a kindness for another today and explore organ donation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's, her favorite charity, at www.stjude.org
A graveside memorial service is set for Crestview Cemetery Saturday September 21 at 10:30 am.
