Shoua Kao Vang

Shoua Kao Vang, age 84, of Royal, died Monday, June 11, 2012. He was born on October 6, 1927 in Laos. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chai Yang; three sons, Yee Vang, Chou Vang, and Chue Vang; and one daughter, Jue Vang. He was a CIA operative in the Vietnam War, rescuing countless American pilots and crewmembers when their planes were shot down, harboring them and keeping them safe until evacuating them back to American hands. He was not only a hero to America, but to his family who think of him as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. He is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Long Vang and Ying Xiong and Teng Vang and Vue Yang all of Laos and Kyle and Susan Vang of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; four daughters and sons-in-law, Yeng and Leng Cheng of Glenwood, Ya and Sue Yang of Royal, Soua Vang and Youa Vang both of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; twenty-four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Services will be held at a later date in Sheboygan WI. Interment will be in the Wildwood Cemetery Sheboygan WI. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
