Sid Barton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center - Kimball Township on Nov. 2, 2023.
Sid Barton, a loving and faith-filled man, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2023. Born on July 18, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Sid was the cherished son of James and Leatha (Jacobs) Revels. He was a thoughtful individual whose love for his family was immeasurable and whose dedication to his work was commendable.
Raised in Detroit, Sid was a hardworking man from a young age. He worked for Selfridge Plating and was also a plumber, having a degree in HVAC. His work ethic was admired by many, and he was known for his dedication and commitment to his profession. Sid's colleagues respected him for his knowledge and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
On June 3, 1977, Sid married the love of his life, Regina, in Dallas, Texas. Their love story was one of deep commitment, mutual respect, and endless love. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising four children: Sandra (Coley) Maison of Fraser, Cortney (Jeannette Gialousakis) Barton of Palm Harbor, Florida, Caleb (Lisa) Barton of Marysville, and Joshua (Fiancée Katie Cylkowski) Barton of Kimball Township. Sid was a devoted father whose love for his children was evident in every aspect of his life. He was their biggest cheerleader, their guide, and their most trusted confidant.
Sid was also a doting grandfather to Sydney, Ethan, Coley Jr., Logan, Alyssa, and eagerly awaited the arrival of a new baby boy. His grandchildren were his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he left a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to live on in their hearts.
Sid had a deep love for music and hunting. He found solace in the melodies of his favorite songs and the tranquility of nature. Sid was very proud of his Native American heritage and enjoyed Powwow's and being at the Southeastern Michigan Indian Center. His interests were diverse, but being with his family was most important to him. He was a man of many passions, but his family always came first.
Sid is survived by his wife, Regina; his children, Sandra, Cortney, Caleb, and Joshua; his grandchildren; his sister, Scarlett; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lucky Barton, and his parents, James and Leatha Revels.
Sid Barton was a man of faith, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a cherished grandfather. His life was a testament to his love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his faith in God. He was a beacon of love and kindness, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
In remembering Sid, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. His life was a beautiful journey filled with love, faith, and dedication. Sid Barton will be remembered not for how he died, but for how he lived - with love, thoughtfulness, and faith. His memory will forever be a guiding light for his family and all who knew him.
A celebration of Sid's life will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, MI 48074. Services will begin at 4:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Lindke Hall at Grace Memorial.
