Mr. Sidney Ross Hicks, 78, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Hospice of Savannah. Mr. Hicks was born in Jesup to the late Claude Henry Hicks and Jessie Eliese Roberson Hicks on January 11, 1947. He served for 13 years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War and enjoyed building things and loved his time in his shop and was a member of South Newington Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Hicks and Charles Hicks.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Alethea Robertson Hicks; son, Daryl (Alison) Hicks of Milford, DE; two daughters, Connie Wells (Rhonda) of Pembroke and Angela Fisher (Ken) of Pleasant Shade, TN; brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Coleman (Shirley); six grandchildren, Amber Mansur (Michael), Tara Napier (Jamie), Dalton Matthews (Madi), Rebecca Vaden (Trevor), Chris Paulson (Taylee) and Jacob Fisher and 11 great grandchildren, Olivia, Jade, Jeorgia, Jaxon, Jaylin, Oliver, Annabella, Axl, Raylan, Autumn and Grayson
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
Inurnment will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery - Glennville.
