Silvestra Balde

1945 - 2026

Silvestra Lorica Balde, 80 of Seymour passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 23, 1945 in Ligao, Albay, Philippines. She came to Indiana in 1994 and went to work at Valleo and worked there until her retirement in 2010.

Silvestra valued life and family. Her grandkids were always the highlight of her life. She will always be remembered for cooking Filipino food and eating "Pata" from Rey. She loved gardening and visiting her home in the Philippines.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo Lorica and Feleciana Abo Lorica and her husband, Antonio Balde on April 11, 2014. Surviving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Yolanda James, and Salve B. Lipaopao, her sons, Jaime L. Balde, Ceasar L. Balde and Carlito L. Balde, Her sisters, Anita Adams, Marcia Wright and Josephina de Guzman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Anthony (Jessica) Ray, Kyla Lipaopao, Sabrina Rose (Abram) Rosas, Vince Lipaopao, Kaye Cyra, Jam Balde, Nicky Balde, Ceasar Orapa, Jan Balde, Jefferson O. Balde, Ceasar Balde III, Ceasarah Orapa, Stephanie Balde, Xia Balde and Carlitos Balde,and her great-grandchildren, Shayli and Alli Bishop, Mia Rosas, Lainy Ray, Londyn Ray and Zander Somers.
