Simone Caron

Simone T. Caron, 100, of Newport, Pennsylvania, formerly of Springvale, Maine, passed away on October 25, 2024.
She was born in Sanford on September 4, 1924, to Emile Morin and Adiana (Cloutier). Her family moved to Canada when she was very young, and she returned to Sanford to find work when she was 18. She met and married Gerard Caron on October 5, 1946.
Simone had various jobs, but most of her time was spent as a full-time homemaker. Gerard and Simone spent close to 30 years in Massachusetts and returned to Maine after retirement in 1987. Simone was predeceased by Gerard 13 years ago after 64 years of marriage.
Simone moved to Newport, Pennsylvania in 2013 when she was no longer able to live on her own. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Therese Porell, Conrad Morin, Rejeanne Hinse, Roger Morin, and Gilles Morin.
She has one living sister, Giselle Morin, who still lives in Canada.
Other survivors include her two children, daughter, Diane and her husband, Chris Wend, of Newport, Pennsylvania, son Steven Caron of Houston, TX, 3 grandchildren, Samantha Vargo and her husband John of St. Paul, Minnesota, Sylvie Wend of Baltimore, Maryland, and Naomi Nogueira of Taunton, Massachusetts, and 3 great grandchildren, Kristi, Thal, and Matteus Nogueira.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, November 15 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therese Lisieux Parish Holy Family Church Sanford 66 North Ave., Sanford. Burial will follow at St Ignatius Cemetery.
