Sixto Montanez Cruz, age 83, of Comstock Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, February 14, 2026, after a battle with cancer. He was born April 6, 1942, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, to the late Antolin Cruz and Petra Montanez. Sixto was a hard worker and spent many years of his career at Attwood Corporation in Lowell until his retirement. He loved being outdoors, working in his garden, fishing, taking trips to the casino, but above all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Edward (Kim), Myrna, and Sixto "Louis" Cruz, Kaylee (Joe) White, and Shaylee and Kiegen TerHaar; numerous beloved grandchildren; brothers, Pedro "Junior" Vazquez and Antonio (Cathy) Cruz; sisters, Lydia (Rick) Stevens, Antonia (Jesus) Canales, Ita (Rogelio) Gomez, and Crucita Vazquez; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary (Brink) Cruz; his parents; and brother, Hipolito "Poli" Cruz.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321, with the funeral service at 11:00am with Rev. Chris Rouech officiating. Sixto will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in honor of Sixto.
