Sixto Orozco Obituary

Sixto V. Orozco, a devoted family man and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. Sixto V. Orozco was born on August 12, 1935 in Villa Jimenez, Michoacan, Mexico, to Teodoro Orozco and Carmen Viveros Orozco. He lived a life marked by dedication, faith, and a deep passion for both his work and his loved ones.
Sixto married, Gloria Soto, with whom he shared many 65 joyful years. Together, they raised three children: Sixto, Carmen, and Crispin. Sixto took great pride and pleasure in being a grandfather, finding his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
Sixto dedicated over 40 years and one month of his life to his career at Grey Iron Foundry, retiring with honor in December 1999. As a loyal member of U.A.W. Local #668, he was respected for his hardworking spirit and commitment. Beyond his professional life, Sixto actively engaged in his faith, worshipping at St. Joseph Catholic Church and delighting in his musical talents as a singer with the La Rondalla Choir and as a Mariachi performer.
He loved riding his horse, Kabaam, in parades and festivals with Charros Aficionados, he was well known among Saginaw and other Michigan communities. Sixto also cherished camping excursions at Black Lake in Michigan, which allowed him to create treasured memories surrounded by loved ones. Sixto and Gloria would spend many winters in his hometown of Villa Jimenez, Michoacan, Mexico.
Sixto is survived by his three children: Sixto M. (Sandy) Orozco, Carmen (Perfecto) Hernandez, and Crispin Orozco; grandchildren: Danielle (Bob), Jack, Stefan and Seth; great grandchildren: Dylan (Kelly), Kalynn, Kendal Mae, James, Arissa, Norah, Urijah, LJ and Delaney; sisters: Eva Ambriz, Esperanza Viveros, Celia Orozco and Aurora Salagado. Sixto took great pride and pleasure in being a grandfather, finding his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
Sixto was preceded in death by his sisters: Maria Luisa Gutierrez and Luz Palomo; brothers: Manuel Orozco and Alberto Orozco. His family and community will remember him fondly for his unwavering faith, his joyful musical spirit, and his generous heart.
Sixto V. Orozco's life was a testament to hard work, family devotion, and cultural pride. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In keeping with Sixto's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Funeral Liturgy to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. Sixth Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
